Americana News

Look's like it's official! She will be in Americana. I really hope it gets picked up for next fall. The pilot episode will be fimed soon.

I found more info on her character which you can see below. Look's like an interesting character.

Lost alumna Emilie de Ravin is set to co-star in another ABC drama series project,  pilot Americana, a soap about a famous fashion industry clan. It centers on iconic fashion designer Robert Soulter (Anthony LaPaglia), the patriarch of a sprawling family who just welcomed a new member, a young designer whose shocking arrival turns the family and the legendary label inside out. De Ravin, repped by Gersh and manager Darren Goldberg, will play Robert’s chic and outgoing daughter Francesca who is the head of events at Americana but Robert doesn’t consider her a candidate for the heir to his empire, which may have treacherous consequences.

Emilie In Talks to Join "Americana"?

Emilie may be returning to TV full time next fall. She is currently in talks to join a new ABC show called Americana. This is not from an official source but let's hope it's true!

Actress Emilie de Ravin, known to TV viewers as the adorable ‘Claire’ on the late ratings-terminator “Lost”, may be continuing the Aussie takeover of “Americana”.
The actress, I hear, is in talks to play the daughter of fellow Aussie Anthony LaPaglia on the ABC drama.
The show, centering around fashion designer Robert Soulter (LaPaglia) and his family business, is infused with a heavy drip of a Aussie blood – aside from the “Balibo” star LaPaglia and the newly-announced de Ravin, local Natalie Mendoza is co-starring as LaPaglia’s former wife and acclaimed Oz filmmaker Phillip Noyce is directing the pilot. It was announced earlier today that Ken Olin would play LaPaglia’s brother on the series.

But Leroy makes a promise to a nun, Astrid, that he may not be able to keep; and Emma looks into the mysterious disappearance of David’s wife, Kathryn. Meanwhile, in the fairytale land that was, Grumpy finds forbidden love with beautiful but clumsy fairy Nova.

"Lost Star De Ravin Had Olympics Dreams As A Child Gymnast"

Former Lost star Emilie De Ravin was on course to become an Olympic gymnast as a child - but the gruelling schedule to maintain her talents became too much to bear.
The Aussie actress won a place in an Olympics training group when she was eight and had dreams of one day representing her country.
But she tells WENN, "It was just too much and it wasn't fun anymore."
De Ravin became a ballet dancer instead and studied with the Australian Ballet School in Melbourne.
She adds, "I went there until I was 16 and I was classically trained."
De Ravin recently returned to her dancing roots to prepare for her role as a line dancer in new movie Love and Other Troubles.
She reveals, "I've taken ballet classes somewhat recently and it's muscle memory. I'm playing a line dancer in Love and Other Troubles and that's a lot easier than doing pas de deux and point work! I play an American girl who goes over to Finland to escape a bad relationship.
"Line dancing, they're really quite serious about it; it's quite cool. And the group of people we got to work with are so lovely. They're a group of characters and lovely people. They get together every week; it's their social thing and a little bit of exercise."

Zap 2 It Interview

Emilie talked to Zap2it.com about her upcoming appearance on Once Upon a Time. Watch out for spoilers in the interview.

"Lost" alum Emilie de Ravin is coming to "Once Upon a Time" Sunday (Feb. 12) as Belle, the fairy tale princess who sacrifices her freedom to save her friends and family in the ogre war. Just how does she do that? By becoming the captive of Rumpelstiltskin.

"[Belle] has always wanted to be the brave one and go out into the world and do something with her life and she has the chance to," says de Ravin. "She has a chance to save her family and her friends by going to live with Mr. Stiltskin."

Rumpelstiltskin is the "beast" role in the fairy tale of "Beauty and the Beast," which has us wondering if the relationship between Belle and Rumpel is the same as in the fairy tale - is there love there?

"There's a love," says De Ravin. "Not the same as where the fairy tale goes, but there's actually a really beautiful progression in their relationship ... he finds himself smiling and laughing at things for the first time in a very long time."

"This friendship definitely turns into more than that," De Ravin continues. "But not in the same way as the animation. In maybe more of an adult reality sense, the way things don't always work out in the real world."

We can't wait to see it - Robert Carlyle has always been so great as Rumpelstiltskin that we can feel our hearts breaking already.
